About the Artist
I am a versatile and accomplished artist, inspired by the people around me and nature.
My creative journey has been influenced by the contrasting cultures, peoples and environments of the United Kingdom, Costa Rica and Spain. The cultural richness of these places has been instrumental in shaping my aesthetic style, resulting in an original combination of considered work and vibrant use of light.
An important part of my life has been dedicated to cultivating and deepening my skills through experience and self-learning in parallel with the professional tutelage obtained in Madrid. This has allowed me to evolve and grow as an artist and develop my own style, one that celebrates the natural environment and the people who inhabit it.
Education
Artist at Independent Studio “Laocoonte”
Madrid, Spain — 2016-Present
Under the tutelage of Juan De Tena and with intensive practice, I have matured as an artist to become confident and competent in representative work, with a special focus and enjoyment of portraiture.
This process has allowed me to explore and develop the nuances of form, expression and colour. Experimentation and evolution have been the fundamental principles of this important chapter of my artistic life, which has resulted in my own style, focused on the gaze and the use of light, to offer a new perspective on traditional portraiture.
Life Drawing classes at Independent Academy
Córdoba, Spain — academic year 2000/2001
The year I attended life drawing classes with live models deepened my understanding of the human form, its movement, and the balance of light and shadow. This immersion in the real and the tactile has significantly informed my work, helping me achieve a sense of depth and dimension.
